Samsung to launch Galaxy S10 with Sound on Display |
SEOUL – Samsung is working on its S series’ 10th addition, Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, after the success of its S9 series model.
The South Korean tech giant is reportedly working on its own under-display speaker technology, called Sound on Display (SOD).
What is SoD?
The latest smartphones will use the piezoelectric vibrator in the body, attached to the display panel to work as an earpiece speaker.
The smartphones do not need any external vent for earpiece speakers. The entire device vibrates and outs the sounds in excellent quality.
This technology was previously used by Xiaomi in Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2.
However, that speaker of Chinese smartphone couldn’t go longer in its conventional competition and Xiaomi later dropped it for a regular speaker.
Therefore, it is very likely for Samsung to implement the same in upcoming Galaxy S10 flagship by 2019.
